a finished project? yes!
Well, this week I blazed on wrapping up some of my unfinished business. As I was saying in an earlier post, I am a bit overdue on some swappy stuff. I made a big fat list, hung it on my wall, and am crossing items off as they go out.

I did finish a scarf for my pal Heidie.

It turned out...okay, IMO. Interesting to make.

I got a mention on art for housewives! I had to get over to five gallon bucket and at least change the blurb-y bit on the front page. It was still sitting there with references to last September. sigh.
And I was totally thrilled to find this great clothing shop out the Netherlands, flobberdewotsky. Amazing, go check it out.
And have you all seen whipup.net yet? This site promises to be a number one resource for online craft inspiration.

After pondering a bit about how to step up my crafty business production, I have set a goal for myself to try to work 3 hours a day on saleables. I can commit this much to my less-than-rewarding job for money, so why not my craft, eh? We'll see how it goes. Apart from wanting to be a vendor at the Summer Arts Fair, I would like to go sell at the Crafty Wonderland in Portland. They only have room for 40 vendors, and I'm not sure I will be ready for the first one, but it is something to aim for. I am sure it is achieveable.

I am excited about my warm season color palette.

It is a bit bright! I can't help myself. These are the colors that call to me from the rack! Maybe I am taking my desire to be "like a rainbow" too seriously. :) (Although those aren't really rainbow colors, they are more tropical...)

Okay, just a few scant minutes before today's "craft shift" begins. I am working on a dreamy (and very bright) skirt. It is going to stop traffic when it is done. You'll see...

The fabric that you made the fantastic button bag with would be great for a skirt!

You ARE like a rainbow. "She comes in colors everywhere..."

Actually, that fabric did come from a skirt, of Opal's. It was a little pilly so snip snip.
I have to say, walking down the street, singing that song with you, in harmony, was one of the high points of our visit for me. I so love to sing! I have been thinking about doing it publicly...

Love the scarf! The pastel yellow, burnt orange and brown combo part is very striking.

Love those colors all together!

and that cd you sent? Wow - made me think of Jean Ritchi, Shirley Collins and Licorice of the Incredible Stringband all rolled into one! I haven't heard stuff like that in years! Thanks - I think I've been enjoying it, she does grow on you doesn't she? :)

she does. it took me a little while, but not very long.
have you heard *the pentangle?* I once organized the record collection of a thirty year old intentional community in the woods. I saw several albums by the aforementioned, but only got to listen for about 1/2 of a side.

The Pentangle we have LOTS of! :) Also a few John Renbourne Group albums as well (The Lady and the Unicorn springs to mind) Have you heard Incredible String Band? If not, it *WILL* be heading your way. Is there any Eno you are missing that you want? Or any Roxy Music?

I have heard Incredible String Band, but never in my leisure time, so please yes! Pentangle, yes, too, and maybe some atmospheric Eno? I only have 'warm jets.'
I have to decline the Roxy Music, though! There is a story behind my refusal, involving a room with no doors in a house with children, a half gallon of cheap vodka, a turntable with the 'repeat' option, and three sexy young women, of whom I was one. I would probably blush and laugh at the same time if I heard them again!

there is indeed something about Roxy... Yep, been there too *GRIN* only it was as one of the women dancers at a bachelor party! We kept our clothes on, such as they were... but... sadly - it was a non booze one and I sure could have used it!

The rest will come to you in probably about a month when the tree out back has performed it's annual duties!
